The North Carolina town of Franklinton is located about 30 miles northeast of the city of Raleigh in western Franklin County.  Our town has a current population of 1,922 people (2006 U.S. Census Population Estimate).  There are a total of 13 fire departments that cover the 492 square mile area of Franklin County.
     Franklinton Fire Department, Inc. is a volunteer fire department of 31 personnel who protect a population of about 5,000 people within an area of 34.19 square miles. Our current ISO Rating is 5/9E.  We have been incorporated since 1989 (formerly a municipal department under the Town of Franklinton) and serve the Town of Franklinton and the Northwest Franklin Fire District. 
     Currently, we operate seven apparatus out of one station located on South Hillsborough Street in town. Franklinton Fire Department, Inc. belongs to Franklin County Firefighters Association, Inc.,  Franklin County Fire Chief's Association, the
North Carolina State Firemen's Association, and the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs.  We are also proud to be a gold sponsor to the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
